About The Opportunity

The Shift Manager will work closely with the Production Manager and the Site Management team to achieve site targets and meet/exceed customer expectations, whilst adhering to safety, food safety, quality, and environmental standards which encompasses all production activities on the site.

Core Responsibilities For This Role

• Promote a safety culture within the site, monitor adherence to all EHS standards and procedures
• Effectively lead a large team of operators to ensure production output targets are met, conduct effective workgroup meetings and manage the maintenance team (out of hours)
• Monitor shift performance and drive the team to achieve relevant KPIs
• Work with Planning to ensure plan fulfilment, throughput, efficiency, quality, cost and OEE delivery
• Manage colleague performance, ensure team development and communication measures are in place and that training records are maintained and compliant
• Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with RFT, Hygiene, Incident Reporting, Change Control and technical standards
• Support audits and customer visits as required and implement actions arising from audits and visits
• Complete all Oracle system requirements to maintain accurate financial data
• Support CI using established tools to root cause issues and drive improvements with actions implemented
• Actively manage payroll, yield and ingredient usage ensuring measures address deviations
• Ensure areas within your span of control are audit ready; implement audit recommendations and solutions to customer complaints within designated timeframes
• COD and Hydraulic loading incident reporting and investigating

• Exceptional technical skills with the ability to understand complex processes to rectify processing defects and stoppages with right first-time solutions
• Strong results orientation with the ability to prioritise and organise work to meet production and bottom-line targets
• Confident and able to manage own workload and make complex decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with personal responsibility for the areas within your span of control
• Proven ability to use core CI tools and techniques to drive improvement
• Excellent People Management skills with ability to lead and develop your team to deliver targets
• Flexible and adaptable with a proven track record in changing work demands
• Third Level qualification in a relevant discipline (Food Science, Technology, Engineering)
• Previous relevant experience in a similar role
• Proven record in maintaining safe work environments
• Strong business acumen, customer focus and commercially aware
• Passion for continuous improvement in a fast-moving production environment
• Performance driven with integrity and sound judgement
