As an Assistant Manager you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth daily operations of the shop. You will lead and support a dedicated team, focusing on operational excellence while supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of store performance. This role emphasizes providing the highest level of service to every customer and promoting a positive, inclusive working environment.
Responsibilities- Lead, inspire, and motivate your team to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high operational standards across the shop.
- Represent the company values and act as a role model, promoting a culture that reflects the brand identity and mission.
- Own day-to-day shop operations, manage workflows, assign tasks, and ensure procedures are followed efficiently from opening to closing.
- Assist in implementing business strategies by managing stock levels, overseeing budgets, and analyzing profit and loss performance to help meet targets.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including HACCP protocols, and adhere to relevant legal and company policies.
- Monitor and assess performance, provide regular feedback, coaching, and training to encourage growth and maintain high service standards.
- Plan and coordinate staff rosters, ensure adequate shift coverage, and optimize scheduling for operational efficiency.
- Maintain open communication with team members and senior management to foster a collaborative workplace atmosphere.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role, leading teams of 10 or more in a retail or customer-facing environment.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire others to perform at their best.
- Strong commercial awareness with a background in driving performance and operational improvements in a shop setting.
- Experience in staff rota planning, task delegation, and general team management to support daily operations.
- Excellent team-building abilities and a commitment to delivering a superior customer experience through teamwork and individual excellence.
- Capable of making sound, independent decisions in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure.
- Familiarity with reading, understanding, and creating planograms to support merchandising and stock placement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
