The Staff Engineer - Mobile Apps will work on the team that delivers CVS customers their "Shopping & Health Super-power" — the flagship CVS Shopping and Health apps. As a Staff Engineer, you will advance our architecture and Mobile Product, collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, product, and analysts to deliver excellent user experiences. You will partner with Apps Platform Engineers, Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and fellow engineers to build products that make omni-channel shopping easy and seamless. You will be a subject matter expert in software engineering best practices across the full software development lifecycle and within our Health and e-Commerce domains.

About CVS Mobile Apps: This is the fastest-growing business unit with over a million daily users, comprising talented Product Owners and UX designers.

Work Breakdown Structure:

• Develop mobile code, especially complex use cases
• Partner with Product, UX, and Engineers to iterate on features and improve our Product
• Mentor and guide team members regularly
• Contribute to foundational architecture improvements

Other responsibilities include:

• Improve and maintain mobile CI/CD infrastructure and pipelines
• Drive solutions to reduce costs and time to market
• Oversee end-to-end application delivery and deployment
• Monitor application health and KPIs, support troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis
• Advocate for security best practices
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship

• 7+ years of software development experience, with at least 7+ years in iOS mobile app development
• 4+ years with modern Android or iOS frameworks such as Jetpack Compose, Kotlin, or Swift
• 5+ years collaborating with cross-functional teams
• 5+ years influencing mobile iOS development best practices
• 5+ years of accessibility experience

• Experience with cross-functional teams in delivering user experiences
• Experience influencing large organizations on mobile iOS best practices
• Additional accessibility and telemetry/observability experience
• Experience with TDD, continuous delivery, static analysis, automation, and functional testing
• Experience designing retail or e-commerce applications
• Experience with OAuth and authenticated tokens
• Contributions to customer-facing applications on Play Store or App Store

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
