Job Overview

As a Staff engineer, you'll be responsible for developing high-quality software features in a fast-paced environment where continuous change and innovation are encouraged. You'll work with a variety of technologies and languages to iteratively deliver software following agile best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-quality, efficient, testable software to implement key product features.
  • Own features beginning to end from design documents and reviews to acceptance testing and deployment.
  • Work across teams to lead feature development that spans several microservices.
  • Resist poor or short-term solutions and favour pragmatic, incremental enhancements that work toward long-term goals.
  • Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices, improve readability, and anticipate issues.
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent programming skills, particularly in Java, but Python would also be useful. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related work experience is essential, along with 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering. Working experience with REST API back-end services, expert-level understanding of object-oriented programming & design, proactive self-driven attitude, growth mindset, ability to learn new technologies quickly, effective communication skills, and complex ideas articulation are highly desirable.
