This company are a leading Planning consultancy with a busy office in Dublin. They deliver challenging and complex projects nationwide, adding significant value to clients' endeavors in sectors like renewable energy, residential developments, sustainable transport and infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

They are seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Town Planner or Town Planner to join their Planning team in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of impactful projects that address the defining challenges in the development sector and you will play a crucial role in shaping sustainable communities and facilitating essential developments across Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and submitting comprehensive planning applications, appeals, and development plan submissions.
  • Conducting detailed background research, desk studies, and site visits to inform planning assessments.
  • Providing strategic planning advice to clients across various sectors.
  • Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams (environmental, ecology, engineering) to support integrated project delivery.
  • Engaging with clients, local authorities, statutory bodies, and other stakeholders, explaining proposals and addressing queries.
  • Monitoring national and European regulatory changes in planning and environmental legislation and assessing their impact on projects.
  • Assisting in the drafting of reports, feasibility studies, masterplans, and planning strategies.
  • Contributing to public consultation processes and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • A Degree and/or Master's qualification in Town Planning, accredited by the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) or Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • A solid understanding and good working knowledge of the Irish planning system and relevant planning and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent report writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and flexible approach, with the ambition to excel and grow within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., GIS, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • A full driver's license is required due to the projects being all over Ireland.
