Main purpose of the role:

Ensure the store's fresh food departments operate efficiently and effectively, providing customers with the best service and fresh food offering at all times.

The ideal candidate will have/be:
  • 2 years' experience in a Fresh Food Department is desirable
  • 1 year's experience in a Supervisor/Manager role is desirable
  • An understanding of how to achieve KPIs and targets
  • Passion for fresh food
Main duties:
  • Actively embody Centra brand values: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community-Based
  • Oversee and ensure the smooth running of the fresh departments by prioritising and delegating workload appropriately
  • Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets related to gross profit margin, net margin, waste, and other KPIs as agreed with the Store Manager
  • Control stocktaking and overheads according to the fresh budget
  • Foster good working relationships among the team
  • Hold regular fresh food meetings and communicate relevant details and results to the team
  • Manage employee performance, providing regular feedback, recognition, and encouragement
  • Handle customer queries efficiently, professionally, and in line with store policy
  • Manage employee rostering and annual leave for the fresh departments
  • Ensure the merchandising and presentation of the fresh department meet high standards and align with store planograms and guidelines
