The Food Service Worker is responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. The Cook should safely handle knives and equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, etc.

Job Responsibilities
  • Service of food and/or beverages to customers to the standards set by the company.
  • Ensure all food hygiene regulations are adhered to, in particular H.A.C.C.P regulations.
  • Cleaning duties associated with service and related equipment and/or furniture.
  • Preparation of service area and/or service points.
  • Clean and replenish service equipment.
  • Accurate storage of food items and equipment after service.
  • Food assembly and service of same in an efficient manner, which may include some light cooking.
  • Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures.
  • Handling cash transactions and ensuring the accurate cash handling procedures are followed in accordance with company procedure and till procedures.
  • Attend in-house training sessions.
  • Maintain personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform to company regulations at all times.
  • Present a professional image conducive to good customer relations.
  • Comply with and assist in the promotion and implementation of the company's health and safety policy.
  • Comply with and assist in the promotion and implementation of the company's policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure departmental operations run smoothly.
  • Show an interest in food and service.
  • Work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Complete paperwork as assigned by your line manager.
  • Demonstrate dedication and self-motivation.
  • Maintain good timekeeping.
  • Contribute to high standards of personal hygiene.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a catering environment is desirable. On-the-job training will be provided. Must acquire a basic food hygiene qualification within the first six months.
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene including HACCP.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment.
  • Good understanding of English.
