About the team

Stripe is looking for an exceptional transactional lawyer to join our commercial legal team supporting our fast-growing business in EMEA. What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Support the EMEA sales team, leading negotiations and advising on a wide range of commercial and legal issues.
  • Be an integral part of the build-out of Stripe's commercial legal infrastructure to scale and operate efficiently at the pace of Stripe's exponential growth. This includes drafting and maintaining Stripe's agreements and playbooks, and leading projects to improve internal processes and operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with teams across Stripe, including sales, privacy, operations, product, tax, and risk groups.
  • Develop and deliver training and resources to help the Sales team sell our products; serve as a point of escalation for outside counsel.

Minimum requirements

  • Intellectually curious and a creative problem solver, eager to learn and find innovative solutions in a complex and evolving industry.
  • A self-starter with a proactive approach and strong ownership.
  • Excellent communicator, able to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborative team player capable of guiding cross-functional teams towards mutual solutions.
  • Knowledge of legal issues and risks associated with hosted data and technology services.
  • Willingness to contribute to the collective success as a team player.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience as a solicitor/lawyer in-house or in a top law firm's technology practice group.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in payment or fintech industries, with knowledge of related regulatory issues.
  • In-house experience advising high-growth companies.
  • Understanding of relevant data protection laws.
  • Fluency in German, French, or Spanish.

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned employees spend at least 50% of their time in the office or with users, balancing in-person collaboration with flexibility.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range is €118,400 - €177,600, which may vary by location. Benefits include equity, bonuses, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends. Details will be discussed during the interview process.
