Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to play a critical role in large-scale transformation initiatives within a public sector organisation. This role will be central to process optimisation, stakeholder engagement, and driving business and IT alignment across a number of strategic projects.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work closely with leaders, business teams, and IT stakeholders to analyse, map, and improve complex operational processes. You will also contribute to the delivery of digital initiatives that support Ireland's transition to a more sustainable and connected economy.

A snapshot of your key responsibilities as a Senior Business Analyst would be:

Conduct comprehensive As-Is and To-Be process mapping across complex operational areas using tools like Visio, Miro, and Lucid chart.
Apply systematic methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) to uncover inefficiencies and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Facilitate engaging workshops and stakeholder interviews to gather requirements, clarify workflows, and ensure alignment.
Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and test documentation to support solution delivery across multi-disciplinary teams.
Carry out deep-dive data analysis and support cross-system investigations to ensure data consistency and business process alignment.
Collaborate closely with IT, policy, and operations teams to support the design and implementation of new systems and process changes.
Use SQL to query datasets, verify process assumptions, and support evidence-based decision-making.
Develop robust documentation, including business requirements, SOPs, and transition plans tailored for both business and technical audiences.
Support system rollouts, testing phases, and training as part of change delivery.
Provide insights and research to support policy development, business cases, and strategic planning.

Key Requirements:

7+ years' experience in a senior Business Analyst role with a track record of delivering results in complex environments.
Strong process mapping, process design, and analytical capabilities.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, and structured project delivery frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, RUP).
A relevant Level 8+ qualification (e.g., Business, IT, or similar).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience facilitating workshops and cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent written and verbal English; able to produce clear documentation and present findings to varied audiences.
Demonstrable experience working across system landscapes (e.g., ERP, CRM, or operational systems).
Familiarity with public sector operations or communications, climate, and environment domains is a strong advantage.

Opportunity type: Contract (12 months), Blended Onsite/Remote (Dublin)
