Overview

Join to apply for the Chef de Partie role at Avoca Ireland. We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our Avoca Rathcoole location. Day-time hours only.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in proactively managing Kitchen operations to ensure high levels of friendly and professional service across all food outlets.
  • Lead by example with a focus on quality, communication, and organization.
  • HACCP - Ensure food systems are up to date and compliant with HACCP and EHO guidelines; practice stock rotation (FIFO) and stay up to date with HACCP training.
  • Food preparation - Perform daily and weekly preparation to ensure readiness for the following day or week at a high standard.
  • Kitchen setup and end-of-day duties - keep counters, surfaces, storage shelves, and refrigeration clean and organized.
  • Food storage - Store food in appropriate, clean, dry containers and label with date of production and use-by date, in alignment with HACCP.
  • Food presentation - Ensure dishes are presentable in keeping with Avoca standards or as directed by the line manager/Head Chef.
Ideal candidate
  • Has prior notable experience in a busy restaurant environment.
  • Is happy to work in a team and demonstrates a strong work ethic.
  • Is capable of leading by example and maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
Competencies
  • Cleanliness and Organization - maintain cleanliness and proper storage, rotate stock, and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Timekeeping - adhere to leave policies and notify a direct supervisor appropriately; holidays should be pre-approved.
  • Multi-tasking - manage multiple tasks efficiently, such as monitoring items in the oven while preparing other dishes.
  • Flexibility - roster changes and cover in different kitchen areas as needed; efforts will be made to notify in advance.
