Senior Statistical Machine Learning Engineer

Datadog is seeking a Senior Statistical Machine Learning Engineer to work on our analysis engine for continuous profiling. You will help analyze, evaluate, and develop insights and recommendations that balance statistical accuracy with real-world computational constraints, enabling production systems to run efficiently at scale.

What You'll Do:
  • Own and evolve the continuous profiler insights and recommendations.
  • Analyze and evaluate the performance of insights and recommendations.
  • Develop new insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with various Datadog AI Teams, such as AI Code Generation and Data Science.
  • Collaborate with profiling teams to design and implement innovative product features.
  • Advise on algorithms and techniques that balance the trade-offs between statistical accuracy and real-world computational constraints.
Who You Are:
  • You have a deep understanding of statistical methods and classical machine learning techniques.
  • You've successfully delivered a customer-facing, large-scale analysis experience.
  • You care about performance and have experience in measuring and optimizing algorithms and code.
  • You enjoy working in a fast-moving, high-growth startup environment.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience implementing statistical heuristics and sampling methods.
  • You have hands-on experience with generative AI.
  • Proficiency in optimizing the performance of applications, frameworks, or libraries.
  • Java development experience.
