Health And Safety Specialist

Lead Group Ireland are currently seeking a Health & Safety Specialist for a site-based role with a leading pharmaceutical company in Cork. This role is responsible ensuring compliance with health and safety for an expansion project on the site. The ideal candidate will have experience in the pharmaceutical industry and, ideally, an understanding of construction safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor health & safety programs in line with industry regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on best practices in health and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety measures into daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with local and international health and safety regulations.
- Investigate and report on incidents, near misses, and workplace hazards.
- Maintain and update health and safety documentation.
Key Requirements:
- Level 8 Degree in Health & Safety
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Understanding of construction safety is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
