What you'll be doing

Strategic
  • Accountable for supporting the business to create a strategy that is then translated into a sourcing strategy. Build relationships with senior stakeholders (CXO level) across BT in all areas of HR and L&D. Become an integral part of the annual planning and budgeting process with the business units to plan future requirements.
Operational
  • Execute the sourcing strategy. Proactively identify synergies across BT's global footprint to optimize services, minimize risks, and reduce costs. Collaborate with regional teams, execute and deliver category plans & sourcing activities. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business objectives and key transformational programmes. Provide professional leadership to internal teams. Build and maintain category expertise, applying best practices around the latest market developments. Manage projects and priorities efficiently, including escalations. Knowledge of Ariba & Cirtuo is a plus.
Activities
  • Manage and deliver category spend and performance; develop and implement category plans and long-term value. Optimize business processes to minimize Total Cost of Ownership. Lead end-to-end sourcing projects with complex contractual and pricing models, securing necessary approvals. Develop policies and frameworks supporting products and services. Collaborate with regional category teams to ensure plan implementation. Manage supplier relationships and negotiate commercial and contractual terms using digital tools. Provide business partnering services to key units.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in procurement with strong sourcing skills and team collaboration. Expertise in relevant categories, supplier capabilities, commercial models, product lifecycles, and partner programs. Proven decision-making ability, high performance, and metrics-driven. Strong relationship management and influence skills with senior stakeholders. Ability to manage complex requirements and deliver projects on time. Experience in business partnering and supplier relationship management. Demonstrates continuous improvement skills. Compensation includes a 10% target bonus, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, hybrid working, pension scheme with 6% contributions, life assurance, healthcare, and training opportunities.
