Overview

Health and Safety Manager at EPS Group | HSQE Team member with potential to manage a team of safety officers and advisors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and for leading a team of 7-8 safety officers and advisors. The role is based at our Head Office in Mallow, Co. Cork, with occasional travel to branch offices across Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK for training and client meetings.

Due to growth, EPS Group is seeking an additional HSQE team member for a highly varied and challenging role offering valuable exposure to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure policies comply with local regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Lead and motivate a safety team; manage performance and delivery of objectives in line with EPS values.
  • Devise training programs for employees on HSQE practices and ensure understanding of safety protocols.
  • Lead investigations into accidents and incidents; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with health and safety regulations and ensure organizational compliance with laws and standards.
  • Liaise with clients and regulatory bodies on health, safety, and environmental matters; provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership.
Key Competencies
  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health and safety management software.
  • Competent report writing skills for submission to Senior Leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
  • Full Irish driving licence.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Package: Competitive salary and benefits; salary range typically €95,000 - €105,000 depending on experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and the management of a team of 7-8 safety officers and advisors. The successful candidate will be based at our Head Office in Mallow, Co.
