Responsibilities:

1. Conduct assessments and individual counselling with clients. Establish appropriate counselling contracts and maintain an assigned caseload.
2. Manage and appropriately bring clinical governance issues to Coordinator – risk, child protection, etc.
3. Effectively communicate with team members, other professionals, and clients to ensure an integrated service provision and inform, facilitate and refer clients as appropriate in accessing healthcare and support services.
4. Maintain appropriate client records, databases, and statistics in accordance with HSE requirements and local guidelines.
5. Engage and participate in Case Management Supervision, team meetings, external supervision, and continuing professional development initiatives as appropriate.

Requirements:

1. Candidates should have experience of conducting assessments for suitability of counselling/therapy and providing one-to-one therapy with a range of client presenting issues.
2. Experience of providing therapy in short and long-term contracts.
3. Experience of managing presenting risk issues.
4. Knowledge and experience of working with current child protection requirements.
5. Knowledge and experience of using IT to support counselling work – record keeping.
6. Hold a qualification at Level 7 or higher on the QQI framework in a human science discipline (medical, psychological, social, educational) or hold a qualification at Level 7 or higher in a health and social care profession.
7. Full driving license and access to own car is desirable.
8. Resident in Ireland and legal right to work in Ireland without restriction.
9. All candidates will be required to undergo Garda Vetting.
10. International Police Clearance (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16).
