Responsibilities
  • Move freight and stock to and from loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage areas, and production areas using manual tools or equipment such as manual pallet trucks, motorised pallet trucks, motorised mover trucks, or motorised forklifts.
  • Record receipts, shipments and invoices.
  • Enter transactions and maintain accurate data on the Warehouse Operating System.
  • Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying items listed on production orders.
  • Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Collect information from warehouse pass-down meetings and communicate key information between shifts.
  • Carry out cycle counts and complete relevant documentation.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy at all times.
  • Maintain material-handling equipment by performing pre- and post-use inspections.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and workplace organisation.
  • Participate in all Physical Inventory Counts and maintain stock accuracy.
  • Report any discrepancies or problems to the line manager/supervisor promptly.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Knowledge of warehouse/manufacturing procedures and documentation desirable.
  • Ability to maintain detailed, accurate, and organised records.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal (and external) customers.
  • Basic manufacturing system knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision with a high level of motivation.
Typical Experience
  • Forklift training and a valid in-date licence is desirable.
  • Relevant warehouse experience and essential.
  • Experience in a production environment desirable.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and SAP system.
  • FIFO principles of warehouse management is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Quality/ISO audit requirements.
