Responsibilities

Our Search Operations team supports our efforts to address objectionable or disturbing content which could include images of violence, animal cruelty, hate speech, violent extremism, or content that exploits or endangers children. The team analyzes user searches and search strategy to ensure a positive and safe user experience for our community. Content may include images, video, and text related to everyday life, as well as examples such as bullying, hate speech, child safety, depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.

• Conduct quality inspection of various data sets and projects, ensuring it meets project requirements and maintain timely delivery of QA cases.
• Demonstrate exceptional judgment in resolving ambiguous cases and provide timely feedback, identifying potential risks and suggesting improvements.
• Prioritize quality, safety, and integrity of content; monitor business progress and contribute to product function optimization iterations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize relevant policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs); support training and clarification processes to ensure accurate understanding and data delivery.
• Facilitate calibration meetings with teams involved during appeal processes; analyze cases and offer solutions to enhance team performance, accuracy, and alignment toward project targets.
• Provide data analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), and action plans during project performance review meetings and business reviews (e.g., weekly, quarterly).
• Undertake additional compatible and related responsibilities as required by the project, including policy localization, training support, data inspection, calibration meetings, and strategy evaluation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Fluent in German is required; English is also required as the working language.
• Knowledge of search engines and familiarity with social media platforms.
• Flexibility to work on projects outside core expertise and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work on variable shift patterns, including weekends, evenings, and nights, with availability for five out of seven days per week.
• Willingness to work with sensitive and potentially disturbing content.

Preferred Qualifications

• QA, moderation, AI annotation experience or equivalent; market knowledge and understanding of local culture and internet usage habits of target markets.
• Familiarity with online shopping-related businesses and search trends.
• Strong analytical skills including data analytics, learning ability, problem-solving, adaptability, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with common productivity software (e.g., Office Suite, Google Workspace).
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in multiple locations and time zones.
