Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Python/Go) – Galway-based, hybrid working (best suited if located within commutable distance). Contract: 11 months.

This role is with a cybersecurity-focused client building a brand new Application Security Platform Squad to drive innovation and security for clients' web applications.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain tools for Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and secret scanning.
  • Build a centralised scanning service that integrates seamlessly into developer workflows.
  • Focus on engineering excellence by improving automation, test coverage, release velocity, and production health.
  • Collaborate with a passionate team, owning all aspects of delivery while contributing to meaningful discussions and solutions.
Experience and technical skills
  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise-standard applications using Python, Go, or Java.
  • Proficiency with frameworks such as Spring, Apache Commons, and experience with Kubernetes or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS, along with relevant certifications.
  • Bonus points for application security experience (Pen Testing, SAST, DAST, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with testing tools (JUnit, PyUnit, Cypress) and automation/pipeline implementation.
