Job Title:Fire and Life Safety Technical Sales

Location:Cork / Dublin (with site travel as required)

Reports To:Fire and Life Safety BDM.

As we continue to grow our fire and life safety division, we are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Fire and Life Safety Technical Sales professional to support and promote the range of fire alarm and life safety products supplied by KD Electronics. This is a hybrid technical and sales support role, ideal for someone with a strong background in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire detection systems who is looking to apply their expertise in a customer-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support & Site Engagement

• Conduct on-siteradio surveysfor wireless fire alarm systems to assess suitability and design requirements.
• Assist with commissioningof wireless, wired, and aspirating fire detection systems on customer sites.
• Attendcustomer sites and exhibitionsalongside the KD Business Development Manager to provide live product demonstrations and technical insights.
• Handleincoming technical support callsand troubleshoot technical queries from customers.
• Provideremote diagnostics and support, including dial-in sessions for system configuration and fault resolution.
• Support customers withsystem functionality, integration, and troubleshootingto ensure optimal system performance.

Product Demonstration & R&D

• Build and maintaindemonstration boards and portable demo kitsfor use in training sessions, exhibitions, and internal events.
• Supportin-branch demonstrationsat KD locations in Cork and Dublin.
• Research and testnew equipment ahead of promotion to ensure performance, reliability, and compatibility.
• Build quotations, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and customer specifications to ensure accurate system proposals.
• Verifysystem designs are compliantwith current standards andmanufacturer recommendations, including completing loop calculations where necessary.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experiencein installation, commissioning, or maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Strong understanding of bothwired and wireless detection systems, as well as aspirating detection.
• Experience with multiple fire system brands (knowledge of brands KD Electronics distributes is an advantage).
• Ability to read and interprettechnical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with PC-based configuration tools and remote support technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable dealing with customers both on-site and remotely.
• Full clean driver's license and willingness to travel across Ireland for site visits and exhibitions.
• Experience intechnical sales or pre-salessupport role.
• Knowledge ofIrish fire safety regulations and standards.
• Familiarity withCAD softwareor design tools used in fire alarm system planning.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under pressure.
