Responsibilities:

  • Performing routine and specialized microbiological tests on clinical specimens.
  • Identifying and classifying microorganisms using various techniques.
  • Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards.
  • Documenting and managing test results and data.
  • Collaborating with medical professionals to interpret findings and support patient care.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • CORU registration.
  • Proven experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory.
  • Proficiency in microbiological techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and quality control processes.
  • Full driving license and access to own car is desirable.
  • Resident in Ireland and legal right to work in Ireland without restriction.
  • All candidates will be required to undergo Garda Vetting.
  • International Police Clearance (if lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16).
