Job Purpose:

To support the finance team with the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring that financial records are accurate and up to date. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone looking to start or progress a career in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the processing of purchase invoices and sales invoices
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor bank accounts
  • Support credit control by chasing outstanding payments
  • Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation
  • Help with the preparation of monthly reports and financial statements
  • Assist in processing staff expenses and petty cash claims
  • Support with VAT returns and other compliance reporting
  • Respond to queries from internal departments and external suppliers
  • Help ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team
Person Specification:
  • A keen interest in accounting and finance
  • Good numeracy and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping or financial processes
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
