About Technical Operations

BioMarin's Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for clinical trials and scaling production for the commercial market. These teams build and maintain manufacturing processes, ensure quality assurance and control, and support procurement and logistics to deliver our drugs globally.

We focus on delivering therapeutics for serious, rare genetic diseases, many affecting children, with limited or no existing treatments. Our goal is to develop first or best-in-class therapies.

Site Inventory Management Lead - Shanbally, Ringaskiddy (Hybrid role)

Closing Date: Friday 2nd May 2025

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain Operations, the Site Inventory Management Lead will oversee Raw Materials and Finished Goods inventory processes at Shanbally, covering biologics manufacturing, drug substance, drug product (vials and syringes), and final packaging.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Raw Materials and Finished Goods inventory levels to meet entitlement targets.
  • Improve inventory processes and deploy best practices, including SAP deployment.
  • Ensure inventory levels support uninterrupted supply to patients globally, maintaining safety stocks.
  • Develop procurement knowledge across categories including raw materials, packaging, consumables, and equipment.
  • Maintain service levels at all inventory locations.
  • Monitor projected sales to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Lead inventory management meetings and coordinate with relevant departments for accurate stock records.
  • Optimize inventory to maximize service levels and minimize expiry.
  • Make make-to-buy decisions and manage inventory in SAP aligned with finance.
  • Ensure accurate stock counts and corrections.
  • Drive teams to follow inventory processes and control levels.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Manufacturing, 3PL, and other functions.
  • Oversee storage and stock locations, conduct regular checks.
  • Maintain good vendor relationships.
  • Ensure system accuracy for goods-in, returns, and transfers.
  • Produce reports on slow-moving stock and monitor stock rotation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in inventory management processes and storage.
  • Coordinate stock taking and liaise with external auditors.

Minimum Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Supply Chain or related field
  • APICS certification preferred

Experience

  • Expertise in SAP EWM
  • At least 8 years of supply chain experience
  • 5 years in biopharma or pharma supply chain environment
  • Proven management of USD 100 million inventory in Ireland
