Overview

Role: Programme Planning Executive (SPC - 13 months) at National Concert Hall, Dublin. The role provides support to the Head of Programme Planning and works with the Promoters Manager on concert bookings and room hire. The Programme Planning Executive contributes to the delivery of the overall programme in line with NCH values.

The Role

The Programme Planning Executive is a key member of the Programme Planning Team within the NCH and will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Venue rental and scheduling of events; liaising with Promoters, Artists and prospective hirers before, during, and after hires as required.
  • Preparing and processing contracts of hire.
  • Generating income opportunities through use of our venues by concert promoters, arts-aligned organisations, independent artists and corporate clients.
  • Responding to rental queries and ensuring contracting of hires is concluded thoroughly and in line with on-sale timelines.
  • Maintaining relationships with internal NCH teams to ensure smooth delivery of events (Operations, Learning and Participation, Marketing, Box Office, Finance, etc.).
  • Marketing and Box Office liaison, including setting up events, managing tickets and monitoring sales.
  • Supporting the production of NCH programmes, including contracting creative teams (artists and speakers) and liaising with relevant suppliers.
  • Advancing and producing NCH promoted events—confirming all details of a concert in advance of the show date, liaising with Artists' Management, Tour Managers and Agents.
  • Updating the events management software Artifax with relevant concert and event information and generating reports.
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with a wide cross-section of partners (artists, agents, promoters, composers, resident artists and arts organisations).
  • Undertaking any other duties reasonably required in the above position.
The PersonEssential Requirements
  • At least 1 year's experience in a comparable role in an arts organisation.
  • Third-level qualification with relevant knowledge of the arts and arts administration sector.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships.
  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • A self-starter able to thrive in a demanding environment and foster cross-departmental collaboration with other NCH functions.
  • Judgement and discretion with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
  • A positive approach and a commitment to upholding the NCH values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working with Artifax event management software.
  • Experience dealing with promoters/artists in an arts and culture context.
Salary & Contract

The role is offered as a temporary, full-time role on a Specified Purpose Contract (SPC) for up to 13 months. The Executive Officer (PPC) salary scale applies (rates effective from 1 August 2025); starting at €37,919 per annum.
