Lecturer – Accounting, Finance, and Business
Griffith College Cork is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching in Accounting, Finance, and Business disciplines. The ideal candidate will hold a Level 9 qualification (or higher) in a relevant field and bring academic or professional experience to inspire and engage our students.
Responsibilities- Deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops in areas such as Accounting, Finance, and Business.
- Develop innovative teaching materials and assessments aligned with industry and academic standards.
- Work within QA approved guidelines to assess student work and submissions.
- Support student learning and progression through mentoring and academic feedback.
- Contribute to curriculum development and ensure alignment with professional body standards (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
- Engage with industry professionals to bring real-world context to the classroom.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic reviews, and programme administration.
- Level 9 qualification (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Proven teaching ability and/or professional experience in accounting, finance, or business.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and IT skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain academic and professional standards.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools.
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CFA).
- Experience designing course content and assessment tools.
- Awareness of current trends and developments in the financial/business sector.
As part of the interview, candidates will deliver a 5–10 minute mock lecture on a selected topic to a panel acting as students. The session should focus on a specific concept and demonstrate teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
