Overview

Swim Teacher/Leisure Centre Attendant role at Talbot Hotel Wexford, part of the Talbot Collection. This is a part-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operations and coordination of swim activities in line with 4 star requirements while providing a high level of member and guest service and maintaining a happy and safe environment. This role reports to the Leisure Centre Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting programmes and assessments
  • Teaching fitness classes
  • Teaching swimming
  • Supervising the swimming pool area
  • Maintaining the highest standard of safety
  • Presenting a professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Maintaining a high standard of customer service
  • Acting immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency
  • Carrying out other duties as assigned and appropriate
  • Being responsible for the safety of participants in their own class
  • Instructing and evaluating students participating in swim lessons
  • Walking children safely between locations and on water/bathroom breaks or having a designated swim instructor allocated
  • Preparing for swim lesson programmes (facilities, equipment, rosters, lifeguard)
  • Supervising, organizing, and executing swim lessons, including assigning children to levels
Qualifications
  • Friendly and professional work attitude
  • Assistant or Full WSI, Swim Ireland Swim Teacher or equivalent
  • Fluent English, written and spoken
  • Must be available to work variable shifts
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
  • The role involves weekend work, so flexibility is required
