About Us

Gleoite Homes Ltd is a residential construction company specialising in high-quality custom new builds, extensions, and renovations. We take pride in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and delivering excellent results for our clients. As we grow, we are looking for an experiencedWorking Foreman – Carpentryto lead and work alongside our team on projects mainly in Galway City, County Galway, and within a one-hour radius of Ballinasloe.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated tradesperson with strong carpentry skills and proven site supervision experience. This is a hands-on role, leading a team on-site while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and carry out residential carpentry work, including framing, finishing, and custom installations
  • Supervise on-site activities and coordinate with subcontractors
  • Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Train and mentor junior team members
  • Maintain high safety and quality standards
  • Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Resolve site issues quickly and effectively

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in residential carpentry, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Skilled in framing, finishing, cabinetry, and general carpentry techniques
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to various sites
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
