Overview

Business Modeller role at KPMG Ireland. Location: Dublin. Grade: Senior Consultant / Manager. Contract type: Permanent. This is a technical modelling role within the Risk Consulting team in Dublin, aimed at candidates with a combination of accountancy, audit, business qualifications and technical/data experience, ideally with a consulting background.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and document complex business models.
  • Design review strategies (including re-calculation strategies) to validate client's models and identify risks.
  • Develop analytical and reporting solutions including extracting data using SQL and processing and reconciling large data sets.
  • Carry out relevant analysis and present findings (written and oral).
  • Contribute to developing an outline of key client issues and the scope of work.
  • Develop scoping and planning documents for assurance projects with an IT element.
  • Contribute to project teams and take responsibility for completing high quality work within agreed timescales; and
  • Deliver to tight deadlines in a project environment where additional hours may be required to meet deadlines.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with MS Access; SQL Server; Data Visualization (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Qlik); Statistical packages (e.g. MATLAB, SPSS); VBA; C++, R or Python is a bonus.
  • Experience in data modelling and management, integration and manipulation of large datasets.
  • Broad knowledge of wider commercial, business and economic issues.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services, Insurance and Asset Management sectors is a plus.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with high-quality delivery to tight timescales.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to think logically through problems from start to finish.
