Account Director

This is a hybrid role, based out of our Dún Laoghaire HQ.

The Account Director is a leadership role at Backup Marketing. You will be responsible for building and managing strong client relationships, overseeing strategic campaigns, and guiding internal teams to create and deliver exceptional brand experiences for some of our biggest accounts.

You'll be part of a team managing key clients on a day-to-day basis, helping to deliver a coordinated best-in-class agency service. You will work with a team of Business Directors, creatives, strategists, and event producers.

This role sits within the Client Excellence team and focuses on delivering events and experiential marketing to large multinational companies such as Tesco, Google, Vhi, Nestlé, Aramark, and Zurich.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in managing accounts in experiential, events, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to manage senior client relationships and drive significant business growth.
• Strategic mindset, with robust analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership capabilities with proven experience mentoring and developing teams.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Adaptive to finding and implementing tools and work practices that improve efficiency.
• Highly organised, capable of managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
• Financial acumen with experience managing substantial budgets.
• Passionate about experiential marketing, brand activation, and emerging industry trends.
• Culturally attuned and aware of trends in entertainment, venues, and social experiences in Dublin and across Ireland.
• A degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage.
