The post holder will play a key role in the efficient and effective delivery of the Payroll function in the new Shared Service Centre providing payroll services to approximately 3,500 staff across 6 locations. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Full responsibility for accurate and timely processing of the payroll and have a general awareness of other payroll priorities within the department.

Accurately calculate and process all Payroll related amendments

Assess and meet payroll deadlines, while allowing appropriate time for checking.

Ensure all deadlines relating to the authorisation of Time and Attendance clock cards by Line Managers are adhered to.

Review of all hours from the Time and Attendance system for accuracy.

Provide a superior customer service and respond to and resolve employee salary queries with efficiency and professionalism in a courteous and respectful manner.

Transfer Salaries to bank via Banking Software adhering to strict deadlines.

Complete all salary/mortgage forms within the agreed timeframes of the Department.

Administer the payment of all Health Insurance and all other voluntary deductions.

Liaise with Payroll Team Lead in ensuring that you are fully trained up in all areas of the payroll department.

Evaluate payroll processes and procedures for continuous improvement.

Display a strong customer service ethos and ensure high quality standards are met

Foster and develop collaborative working within the Bon Secours Health System in advising and supporting the delivery of the Group Payroll Function

Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ensure that a high level of confidentiality is maintained at all times

Role Requirements:

Ideally 3+ years relevant experience in processing high volume in processing high volume payrolls (with regular changes).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft programs, particularly Excel skills

Self-starter with ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team

Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail with ability to meet tight deadlines

Strong relationship building skills and customer service orientated

Relevant Experience in a Healthcare setting or a Shared Service Centre environment

Experience with Megapay and a Time Management System is advantageous.
