PE Global is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a public sector organisation based in Galway. This is a permanent opportunity with an employer choice in Galway. Reporting into the CEO this position will lead and oversee all aspects of the finance department. Responsibilities: Provide strategic financial leadership to ensure operations are aligned with the organisations missions and objectives Provide insights and advice to the CEO and Board on financial matters, including cash flow management, investment decisions and financial risk management. Manage and lead an existing finance team. Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management accounts, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory frameworks specific to the healthcare sector and charity/not-for-profit regulations. Lead the preparation for annual audits and manage the relationship with external auditors, ensuring all financial records and procedures meet audit requirements. Ensure the organisation adheres to relevant financial regulations, compliance standards, and internal policies. Prepare and present financial information in an accessible format for non-financial stakeholders, including the Board, and support the CEO in delivering key messages to the organisations external partners. Requirements: You will be a fully Qualified Accountant and hold accreditation with ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA You will have a minimum of 5-7 years post qualified experience working within an organisation of a similar scale. You will have a strong background in financial reporting, compliance, problem solving and process improvement You will have an experience track record of analysing date to make recommendations on financial and organisational strategy You will have experience in managing small teams as well as having strong commercial decision-making experience. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and previous stakeholder management exposure. Interested candidates should submit an updated CV.
