Job role: Health & Safety Advisor - Cork The CSR Group is currently working with a leading contractor in Ireland who has been in the construction industry for over 30 years. This company is looking for a H&S professional to take on this exciting new role. The sites you will mainly be working on are Residential sites leading into other sectors as they arise. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to take their place within a long established company and implement a top-down approach to the H&S of the site. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience as a H&S professional within construction preferably residential. The company in question offers great career progression opportunities and there is a lot of room for growth. Day-to-day responsibilities: Manage emergency procedures, respond to health and safety-related complaints or issues; Keep a focus on health and safety within the business. Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employers industry. Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees. Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements. Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers Conducting regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation. Ensure safe working procedures are implemented. Ensure that all accidents are reported, recorded, investigated and appropriate actions are taken to ensure that they do not happen again. Skills and qualifications: 2-3 years in similar role Previous construction experience Must work well as a team and be able to collaborate with others.
