The Role
The Senior Manager, Financial Control will be an integral member of the Group Financial Reporting team, delivering accounting and controlling activities across Athora corporate centre serviced entities.

Key Contribution Areas

  • Management of all finance operations activity, and all accounting and reporting processes.

  • Continuous improvement and automation of all processes to achieve better control environment and deliver quicker and more efficient processes.

  • Manage a team of junior colleagues within the Finance function

  • Review of journals prepared by team.

  • Quarter-end submission / reporting of corporate centre services entities.

  • Annual statutory and financial statements preparation.

  • Provision of information supporting Bermuda Monetary authority submissions to Group Finance.

  • Management of the annual audit engagements.

  • LTIP accrual booking calculation / instructions / schedule.

  • Investor and equity fee accruals, equity commitment fee accruals

  • Preparation of equity related journals

  • Review and sign-off of all balance sheet reconciliation checks performed by outsourcing partner.

  • Payments approval, review of control accounts matching, cash reconciliation review and sign-off.

  • Management of cash transactions related to shareholders payments.

  • Perform other ad-hoc / controlling activities as required

  • Control and oversight responsibility

Personal Capabilities

  • Highly motivated self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to work under pressure, achieve targets and meet strict deadlines and to develop and manage projects.

  • Excellent people management and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of successfully leading large teams

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with different cultures and levels within the organization

  • Strong stakeholder management experience

  • Highly adaptable with the ability to thrive in an environment of change

  • Ability to work at pace and in a timely manner

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Qualified Accountant: 7-10 years of experience

  • In-depth understanding of all finance operations and corporate centre accounting processes.

  • Knowledge of IFRS required

  • Experience in financial services or working in a complex business

  • Knowledge of SAP and SAP BPC or similar accounting system

  • Management of accounts payable

  • Experience in accounts payable process improvement

  • Experience of managing board reporting

  • Previous CF1 role holder desirable
