The Purpose of the Role: Trinity Brand Commercial Services Limited (TBCSL) wishes to appoint an Accounts Assistant, on a full-time basis to work within the Finance team. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality financial expertise to support the areas performance commitments and to make a dynamic contribution in the provision of a responsive, effective, and user-friendly financial support service for the University community and other stakeholders. Context: The principal activity of the Company is the commercialisation of the Trinity College Dublin brand and intellectual property. The finance team manages the financial affairs of TBCSL, processing and reporting on the financial transactions as well as providing robust, timely and accurate management information to support strategic decision-making within the Commercial Revenue Unit on behalf of the University. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Governance, TBCSL wishes to appoint an Accounts Assistant who will have primary responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the finance team, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for accounting to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. Main Responsibilities: Receiving & processing all AP invoices Assist with set up for new vendor accounts Receiving & processing all AR invoices - raising Credit/Debit Notes where necessary Posting all customer receipts to system Monitor expenditure through the accounts, ensuring there is a robust PO approval process across all departments, check for cost and accuracy Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts Receiving & processing all credit card transaction Assist in the preparing of monthly payment runs Monitor bank accounts and record daily bank transactions Monthly credit cards posting Reconciliation of monthly bank statements Assist with tax returns Support Trinitys annual audit process Liaise with University faculties and divisions on financial issues, through their Finance Partners Any other duties as directed by the Head of Finance & Governance. Person Requirements The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and make a full contribution as a part of the TBCSL team, to relate to members of the academic and administrative areas and other staff at all levels, to demonstrate sensitivity to academic issues. Qualifications: Part-qualified accountant with a recognised Irish Accounting body. Knowledge and Experience: Applicants should have at least 2 years experience, preferably in a similar role, in a medium to large organisation. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, however not essential Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Experience of working with Oracle, PBCS and Power BI would be an advantage Skills: Excellent numerical and analytical skills with previous financial accounting experience. Well-developed organisational skills with a proven ability to manage various tasks in a busy environment and prioritise accordingly; deadline oriented with good attention to detail. Confident problem solver, resourceful with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues (including IT) independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential; the successful candidate will be comfortable explaining complex situations in simple terms, dealing with queries from both internal and external stakeholders in an accessible and professional manner. Strong computer skills with use of IT as a driver of efficiency; high level of competency in MS Office applications, including Microsoft Excel as a support tool for reporting and analysis, is essential. Ability to learn new tasks, and adapt to a changing environment, including a blended working environment, working both on-site and remotely.
