We are seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster Financial Lines who will be responsible for the investigation, analyses, negotiation, and settlement of Professional Indemnity, D&O & Cyber claims within the Irish claims team based in the Dublin office of AXA XL.

Typical responsibilities are:

1. Proactively manage assigned claims across Financial Lines including Professional Indemnity, D&O & Cyber while setting and implementing the case strategy for these claims under the direction of the Practice Leaders and Claims management. Ensure all documentation is present in the file, and Claim Handler Guidelines and protocols are followed.
2. As claim file owner, collaborate closely with Claim Managers and Practice Leaders to achieve optimum file outcome, determine if / which external vendors to engage, and establish strategic plan with vendor, identify Large Losses and take all appropriate steps to achieve the best outcome for the client and AXA XL.
3. Work with management and Claims Litigation team to identify and select appropriate counsel or alternative resolution technique. Pro-actively manage litigation strategy on assigned claims.
4. Proactively manage expenses through thoughtful expense management and claims best practice. This includes partnering with internal and external counsel in setting and pursuing effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies for claims in litigation.
5. Assist Underwriters with policy review and drafting initiatives, participate in external marketing and business development activities, as appropriate. Share lessons learned and other identified trends to improve risk assessment and underwriting process.
6. Coordinate and manage communication with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., underwriting, brokers, reinsurers, external vendors, etc.) to ensure the highest level of customer service.
7. Produce internal reporting in support of best practice and reserving guidelines. Follow the AXA XL Claim Alert process.
8. Monitor and report on emerging liability and coverage trends.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

1. Bachelor's degree required;
2. Fully or partially ACII qualified is desirable;
3. 5+ years of Financial Lines claims experience, with recognised knowledge and abilities;
4. Casualty claims handling experience is an advantage;
5. Excellent industry knowledge and a firm reputation in the market;
6. Well-developed negotiation skills and good communication & interpersonal skills: look beyond the obvious, search for underlying interests, listening skills, must be able to be creative in finding solutions that are in the best interests of all involved parties;
7. Extensive experience of the Irish legal system in the context of claims handling;
8. Eagerness to learn, develop and grow within a professional claims team;
9. Enthusiasm and humour

You will report to Head of Ireland Claims.
