Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 within UCD School of Earth Science. We invite applications for a position for a post-doctoral fellow (level 2) for a newly funded Research Ireland Research Professorship awarded to Prof. Sarah Gleeson in the School of Earth Sciences (UCD) and the Research Ireland Centre for Applied Geosciences (iCRAG). The research programme is called "Metals for a Green Ireland: Developing innovative mineral systems and exploration tools" and is focussed on the provision of the critical and strategic raw materials required for the green transition. The research group will comprise 13 members from senior research fellows to PhD students, involves field sites on four continents and collaboration with industry and other stakeholders. The research is focused on base metal deposits in sedimentary basins. This post-doctoral fellow will have access to the instrumentation in the National Centre of Isotope Geochemistry at UCD and will be primarily responsible for the development and application of new isotopic approaches to source tracing or quantification of hydrothermal haloes using a Neoma MC-ICP-MS. The researcher will work in a dynamic team of raw materials researchers at UCD, although collaborations with the wider iCRAG and School of Earth Sciences community are also possible. POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER 2017 LEVEL II Salary Scale: €54,307 - €59,063 per annum. Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
