We are seeking an EMEA Employment Counsel to join Zoom’s growing international legal team. In this role, you will provide strategic legal support across a wide range of complex employment law matters affecting our operations in the EMEA region. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Employment, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. By helping to shape and implement employment practices across a dynamic and scaling global organisation.

About the Team

You will be joining a collaborative, high-performing global Employment Legal team, working closely with colleagues across the US, EMEA, and APAC regions. The team plays a critical role in supporting Zoom’s people first culture while ensuring global compliance and effective risk management. This role offers direct visibility to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to contribute to global employment strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for an employment lawyer to take a leadership role in partnering with our People Experience (HR) and Compliance teams, as well as working closely with our executive team on matters of strategic importance, including employee relations, cross-border compliance, organisational change, and policy development.

Responsibilities

- Providing strategic, risk-balanced legal guidance on complex employment matters across multiple EMEA jurisdictions
- Advising senior HR and business leaders on employee relations, performance management, investigations, and terminations
- Managing Works Council engagements and collective consultation processes across relevant jurisdictions
- Overseeing employment disputes, pre-litigation strategy, and coordination with external counsel
- Collaborating with Compliance and People Experience teams to develop and implement compliant policies, processes, and training
- Handling employment-related data privacy and GDPR compliance in partnership with Privacy and Legal teams
- Supporting cross-border projects, including reorganisations, M&A, and global employment initiatives
- Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Legal, People Experience, and the wider business

What we’re looking for

- Be a qualified lawyer in a European jurisdiction with at least 5+ years of post-qualification experience
- Demonstrate deep expertise in international employment law, particularly across EMEA jurisdictions; experience with Germany, France, or the Netherlands is highly valued
- Bring prior in-house experience or have completed a successful secondment with a global business
- Advise on Works Council matters and collective consultation requirements; translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical, and commercially aligned advice
- Navigate sensitive employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion
- Manage competing priorities and workstreams in a dynamic legal environment; collaborate effectively across legal, compliance, and HR functions to drive alignment and mitigate risk
- Handle employee privacy and data protection matters, including GDPR compliance
