Pionew Ireland Limited (PIL), is a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP), registered by the Central Bank of Ireland (Central Bank) pursuant to section 106G of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Offences) Act 2010, as amended.
Position Overview
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of Pionew Ireland to ensure efficiency, regulatory compliance, and service excellence. Working cross functionally, the Operations Manager will ensure that operational processes are robust, scalable, and aligned with applicable regulatory frameworks, including the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCAR) and jurisdiction-specific requirements. This role will focus on ensuring the seamless delivery of the Firm’s crypto asset services, maintaining operational resilience, and supporting the organisation’s growth objectives while upholding the highest standards of governance and customer care.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of PIL, including trade processing, client onboarding, settlement, and transaction support.
Ensure operational workflows meet both efficiency and compliance Requirements.
Implement and monitor KPIs to assess operational performance.
Design, document, and optimise operational procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and scalability.
Collaborate with technology teams to maintain and enhance trading platforms, payment systems, and operational tools.
Oversee incident management processes and ensure swift resolution of operational issues.
Work with the Risk and Compliance teams to ensure operational procedures meet MiCAR, GDPR, consumer protection, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Maintain records, logs, and reports required for regulatory requirements or audits.
Identify and mitigate operational risks through proactive monitoring and controls.
Maintain and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Oversee operational resilience initiatives to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
Manage, mentor, and develop operations team members to ensure high performance and engagement.
Support with the Firm’s customer satisfaction initiatives and complaint management processes.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Coordinate training for operational teams on systems, procedures, and regulatory obligations.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational readiness for new product launches, regulatory changes, and market expansions.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or related field.
Professional qualifications in operations, project management, or compliance (e.g., PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma) are an advantage.
Proven track record in operations management within financial services, fintech, payments, or digital assets.
Experience in a regulated environment, ideally with exposure to MiCAR or equivalent crypto asset or Fintech regulation.
Drives continuous improvement projects to optimise operations and work on strategic projects that align with the Firm’s overall strategy.
Establish objectives and metrics for quality, compliance, and customer experience
Demonstrated ability to lead operational teams and manage cross-functional projects.
Effective leader supporting a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and alignment with cultural values with positive energy.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, regulators, and external partners.
High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in operational systems, reporting tools, and process optimisation techniques.
