Flexsource are currently recruiting a Sales & Freight Forwarding Team Leader for our Client, one of the largest transport companies in Ireland, operating daily services nationwide, based in County Wexford.
The role is designed to ensure smooth freight forwarding operations whilst also providing leadership to the Sales and Freight Forwarding team. The team leader is responsible for coordinating freight forwarding tasks, handling sales inquiries, mentoring the team, and ensuring efficiency within the department.
Key Responsibilities;
Freight Forwarding Management:
- Lead pricing and manage freight forwarding queries.
- Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone.
- Provide competitive and timely rates for customers.
- Maintain accurate records of all quotations, jobs, and movements.
- Manage daily administrative tasks on the Transport Management System.
- Oversee sub-contractor coordination for collection and delivery.
- Issue daily reports to customers and manage historical rate analysis.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations.
Team Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations and ensure team targets are met.
- Allocate resources and mentor team members.
- Handle team issues and escalate when needed.
- Provide reports on team performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet business goals.
Sales Support:
- Provide cover for sales tasks, including responding to inquiries.
- Monitor and manage rate cards, customer communication, and price adjustments.
- Assist with customer account setups, credit applications, and payments.
Key Requirements;
- Experience in freight forwarding or logistics.
- Strong organizational, planning, and administrative skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for building professional relationships.
- Attention to detail and high-quality standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
Hours;
- Monday to Friday
- Shift A 08:00 – 16:30
- Shift B 09:00 – 17:30
Pay;
- €40,000+ (DOE)
