Senior UX Designer

Overview Senior UX Designer - Fixed Term (f/m/d) at Contentful. This contract position is until 01/31/26 and focuses on shaping the user experience across Contentful’s digital touchpoints, with a primary emphasis on website performance, the design system, and data-informed improvements.
As a key contributor to Contentful’s Web Experience team, you’ll work closely with Marketing, Design, Content and Engineering teams to enhance and optimize our digital experiences and drive growth and engagement with customers.
What to expect You will shape the user experience across our digital touchpoints, focusing on website performance, evolving the design system, and implementing research-driven improvements.
Responsibilities Develop, maintain and optimize Contentful’s marketing website and digital properties from a UX perspective
Collaborate with designers, content strategists and the SEO team to define experiences that meet user and business expectations
Create, audit and optimize user journeys, information architecture, navigation and content layout for clarity and conversion
Grow our design system to meet evolving user and business needs
Create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity UI layouts using the design system
Use data (analytics, heatmaps, session recordings) to inform design iterations and improvements
Conduct user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys) to uncover insights and validate design decisions
Leverage internal research and insights to inform experimentation and personalization strategies
Use Contentful as a product to turn ideas into reality and support others
Advocate for UX best practices and contribute to a culture of design excellence and collaboration
Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the organization
Qualifications 8+ years of UX/UI design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing B2B SaaS or complex web-based products
Proven experience designing and optimizing marketing websites with measurable performance results
Expertise in developing and maintaining scalable design systems
Advanced proficiency with Figma
Strong skills in user research, usability testing, and data-informed design
Experience using analytics, experimentation and personalization tools
Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-platform considerations
Experience working in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced, agile environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to present ideas effectively and work cross-functionally
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple projects
Familiarity with headless CMS/ DXP technology and how Contentful works
Nice to have: knowledge of front-end code, frameworks and modern web technologies; SEO best practices, Core Web Vitals and performance optimization; use of AI in day-to-day work
