Qualified Practice Accountant

Qualified accountant with strong audit experience to meet the growth of a progressive, leading Accountancy Practice based in Maynooth, Co Kildare. Fitzgeralds specialise in supporting small and medium businesses and business owners in the provision of accounting, auditing, taxation, business advisory and succession planning services to clients from a wide range of business sectors.
As a senior you will need to be able to apply your professional skills and experience working within a team and managing a client portfolio with a pro-active, problem-solving approach whilst prioritising the workload to meet required deadlines. You will be responsible for all stages of external audits including planning, execution and completion. Effective communication with management and partner on progress and status of various audits will be a key requirement
Professionalism, excellent organisational and IT skills, courtesy, discretion, tact, a high level of confidentiality and the ability to maintain working relationships at all levels are necessary qualities for this role.
The role is flexible for 4 or 5 days per week on a hybrid basis to commence in October 2024.
Salary will be based on experience.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
· ACA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of 5 years practice and audit experience pre and post qualification
· SME Financial Statements Preparation
· Managing a portfolio of clients
· Preparation of SME Financial Statements in FRS102/1A and 105
· A good practical knowledge of company law for SMEs
· Experience preparing companies registration office returns in particular annual returns
· A strong knowledge of all business and personal taxes – CT, IT, CGT, VAT, RCT
· A high competence in accounting and business IT applications – in particular Excel
· Working in a digital environment
· Problem solving
· Proficient in numerous accounting software packages & willing to learn new and use new packages
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to work as part of a team as well as work on own initiative
· Experience of building long term relationships with colleagues & clients
