Head of Technology – Your role:
SoftCo’s cutting-edge platform revolutionises the way organisations manage their finance operations. As we continue to expand our global presence in the market, we are seeking a Head of Technology to lead our SaaS team and drive our technological initiatives forward.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company’s technology vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business goals and market trends.
- Work with product teams to ensure deployments and maintenance of SaaS products are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Define and maintain the technology architecture and infrastructure, including cloud platforms, databases, security and networking, to support the company’s SaaS offerings.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in development processes and methodologies.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect customer data, systems, and intellectual property, including compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Design and optimise systems for scalability, performance, and reliability to handle growing user bases and workloads.
- Oversee the design and management of data architecture, storage, and analytics capabilities to derive insights and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and execute strategies for integration with third-party systems and services such as customer ERP systems to leverage the full potential of the SaaS platform.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with technology vendors, platforms, and industry players to enhance the company’s product offerings and market positioning.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation within the technology organization.
- Manage the technology budget and resources effectively, prioritizing initiatives and investments that deliver the highest strategic value to the business.
- Collaborate with product, sales, marketing, operations, and customer success teams to understand customer needs, gather feedback, and drive technology enhancements and innovation.
- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to SaaS products, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in cloud architecture, security, SaaS delivery models, and related fields, driving innovation and differentiation.
Your profile:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. An advanced degree such as a Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant technical discipline is an advantage.
- Deep technical expertise in software development, cloud computing, and SaaS architecture is essential with strong understanding of modern programming languages, frameworks, and development methodologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS and Azure), microservices architecture, containerization (e.g. Docker and Kubernetes), and DevOps practices is required.
- Proven track record of leadership and management in a technology-driven environment, including experience leading engineering teams, defining technical vision and strategy, and driving execution to achieve business goals.
- Strong leadership skills including communication, team building, decision-making, and conflict resolution are critical.
- Experience working with product teams to translate customer needs into innovative SaaS solutions based on market insights and competitive analysis.
- Experience in the Enterprise SaaS industry is required with deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of enterprise customers, such as scalability, security, compliance, and integration with existing systems.
- Experience in developing and executing long-term technology roadmaps is essential with a strategic mindset and an ability to formulate and communicate a clear technology vision and strategy aligned with business objectives.
- A strong understanding of business fundamentals, including revenue models, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning with an ability to translate technical decisions into business impact and ROI based on strategic business goals.
- Have a customer-centric view focused role on delivering value to customers through technology solutions and experience working closely with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and prioritize technology enhancements accordingly.
- Experience with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOC including experience implementing and maintaining robust security and compliance programs to protect customer data and mitigate risks.
- Continuous commitment to learning and innovation with new technologies and approaches to drive competitive advantage for the company.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive leadership, customers, partners, and other teams with ability to communicate technical concepts and decisions clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
