We're looking for a collaborative, purpose-inspired strategic visionary to join our Commercial Centre of Excellence as Director of Portfolio Optimisation & Commercial Services. In this role, you'll cultivate our strategic portfolio optimisation, commercial services, and advanced insights - ensuring our investment choices are thoughtful, inclusive, and future-focused. You'll be a key player in our mission to power the transition to net zero, working closely with a diverse team and partners around the globe. You will Define and nurture SSE Renewables' global portfolio strategy, ensuring all investments align with our shared growth goals and deliver balanced, risk-aware returns throughout the lifecycle of our assets in the UK, Ireland, and international markets. Build, support, and empower a high-performing, diverse team across portfolio optimisation, commercial services, and quantitative exploration - fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and collective success. Develop and embed governance and prioritisation frameworks that encourage clear, data-informed choices, collaborating closely with Finance, Energy Markets, and Group Strategy. Guide commercial and strategic initiatives that open new revenue opportunities, enhance trading and hedging performance, and strengthen value through thoughtful modelling, automation, and deep market insight. Represent SSE Renewables with key stakeholders - including joint venture partners, regulators, and the SSE Board - ensuring our portfolio strategy embraces evolving global energy trends and policy frameworks. You have Extensive senior leadership experience in international energy or renewables markets, with a proven track record in portfolio optimisation, investment strategy, and commercial guidance across diverse jurisdictions. Demonstrated expertise in joint venture environments, including building strong, productive relationships with JV partners and skilled in presenting confidently at Board-level and senior executive governance forums. (Prior experience serving as a Director on Joint Venture boards is highly desirable.) Deep commercial acumen and understanding of global market dynamics, trading strategies, risk frameworks, and the levers that drive value across the asset lifecycle.
