Osborne IT Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a public sector organisation to recruit a Cybersecurity Governance, Risk & Compliance Consultant. This is a key role responsible for strengthening the organisation's cybersecurity governance and ensuring alignment with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of cybersecurity frameworks, risk reporting structures, and policy enforcement. This role plays a critical part in promoting cybersecurity maturity, managing third-party risk, and delivering robust security insights to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and refine cybersecurity performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting frameworks to evaluate internal and third-party security effectiveness.
• Lead the creation and update of cybersecurity policies and ensure they are aligned with evolving regulations and threats.
• Perform cybersecurity risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate threats to the organisation.
• Coordinate and execute internal and external security audits, addressing identified gaps and ensuring remediation actions are tracked.
• Oversee the implementation of cybersecurity controls and ensure ongoing compliance across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., IT, Legal, Procurement) to embed security into governance processes and operations.
• Provide accurate and timely reports, dashboards, and metrics for executive, board-level, and regulatory audiences.
• Monitor changes in the threat landscape and evolving regulatory requirements to ensure continuous alignment.

Skills and Experience Required:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years' experience in cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
• Professional certifications such as CISM, CISA, CISSP, or CRISC are highly desirable.
• Proven experience with risk assessments, policy development, and audit management.
• Strong understanding of relevant cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, NIS2).
• Skilled in consolidating data and generating insights and reports for senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
