SimoTech has a new opportunity for an experienced MES Engineer to join our team supporting a global pharmaceutical organisation onsite in their large Cork campus, which includes multiple high-technology manufacturing platforms.
This hybrid role is primarily focused on Recipe Authoring and forms part of the IT Manufacturing team, which supports various business functions within the site’s API pharmaceutical facility. The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 5 years’ experience with Emerson Syncade systems within the life sciences industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Process mapping of existing manufacturing processes and development, implementation, and support of MES recipes.
- Take a leading role in recipe design sessions with Business Process SMEs.
- Carry out testing and change control activities related to the MES recipes changes.
- Develop, configure, and test MBRs from initial to final design.
- Participate in MBR development design reviews including communicating cross-functionally with Automation, Lab Systems, ERP, and Quality groups.
- Provide support and technical expertise for the ongoing development of the site MES system in development of MBRs and improving the MES business processes.
- Take part in the training of all relevant EBR end-users and the ongoing development, review, and update of all relevant SOPs.
- Carry out troubleshooting and fault-finding where required for MES and all relevant interfaces as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience as an MES Engineer within the life sciences industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, life sciences, or similar.
- A strong understanding of manufacturing processes and practices within a GMP environment.
- Broad technical experience in the delivery of MES systems/projects including design, configuration, and testing.
- Experience with Emerson Syncade within a pharmaceutical API environment.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving ability to identity the root-cause and solutions for technical issues related to MES systems, configurations, or integrations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid working relationships that enable cross-functional cooperation and enhances stakeholder engagement.
- Experience integrating MES systems to other systems such as DCS, SCADA or ERP is highly beneficial.
