Senior Occupational Therapist - Surgery Service Senior Occupational Therapist – Surgery, South Dublin, Ireland
Cpl Healthcare in partnership with a leading acute hospital in South Dublin are recruiting for a Senior Occupational Therapist in the Surgery service.
As the Senior OT, you will be responsible for the delivery of Occupational Therapy services for acute patients transferred to a 25 bedded step down unit.
This is a new post involve multi-disciplinary team working to coordinate and expedite patient discharges from the step-down unit as well as coordinating and supervising the Therapy Assistant. You will also be the link person between community and hospital care, and work closely with the Senior OTs in Acute Services and Discharge Planning to facilitate equipment provision and discharge planning

The Hospital is a provider of local, regional and national specialties. It is also a national urology centre, the second largest provider of dialysis services in the country, a regional orthopaedic trauma centre and a designated trauma unit.

Competitive salary depending on experience (€63,912 - €75,254)
35 hour working week

Candidates Interested In The Role Must Have
A recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist and ideally current CORU registration of eligible for same.
At least 3 years full time (or equivalent) post qualification clinical experience in an acute hospital and/or community care setting
Experience assessing for and providing adaptive and enabling equipment to facilitate discharge from hospital.
Experience of planning complex discharges including home and access visits
Experience working with patients requiring specialist seating/wheelchairs.
Experience in supervision and clinical training of junior staff
Police clearance from any country lived or worked in for 6 months or more
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Flexibility in work practice
Excellent verbal and written English
