Applications invited for the following Post in the Technological University Dublin Post: Post-Doctoral Researcher (Food Science, Brewing & Distilling) ARISE Project (Fixed term specified purpose contract for up to 5 years with initial funding available for 2 years) Reference: 281/2025 Location: The post will be based at one of the TU Dublin Campuses i.e. Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Grangegorman, Blanchardstown or Tallaght. Regular attendance at other sites will be required. Hours of Work:A 37 hour working week is in operation. Salary: The successful candidate will be appointed at point (01) of the Post-Doctoral Researcher Salary Scale i.e. €48,412 gross per annum. Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Incremental credit may apply in line with University policy. Closing Date: 5:00pm on 1st September 2025. The interview assessment will be 35 minutes in length and will include a presentation of 7 minutes duration. A PhD in Food Science, Brewing and Distilling or related discipline. Evidence of a research profile and publication record within the requisite subject area. Knowledge of the brewing and distilling industry in Ireland. Commitment to high quality research. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and to work with industry. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their demonstration of meeting every essential criterion so are asked to clearly outline how their experience and qualifications meet the criteria. Desirable Knowledge of the process of brewing and distilling Practical experience of brewing and or distilling at either laboratory or industrial scale. Experience of new product development Evidence of engagement / collaboration with the food industry. IELTS of 6 or above certified English language proficient Candidates may be shortlisted on the basis of none, one or more of these desirable criteria and are asked to clearly outline how their experience and qualifications meet the criteria. Other requirements for the role Personal attributes required for the role: Willingness to work with the brewing and distilling industry, to visit different producers and collaborate on research projects. Effective written and verbal communication skills Good organisational skills Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team Further information for Post-doctoral Researcher In the case of a 1st Post-doctoral Fellowship where the applicant may not have graduated yet, the successful applicant must, at the time of appointment, provide a letter from the appropriate graduate studies office confirming that the student has completed the programme including all the examination requirements and is just awaiting the formal graduation ceremony and the likely date on which that will take place.
