Do you want to part of our green transition? Can you design for a company that says ‘No’ to fossil fuel projects? Are you graduating in Civil/Structural Engineering this summer? Then, join us and we can be exceptional together.

Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
To grow our Engineering team in the UK and Ireland, we are looking for a Graduate Engineer to join us. Working on a wide range of bridge and structures projects you’ll co-create on some of the most prestigious infrastructures programmes in the UK and Ireland. You'll also be supported by our engineers on your on-going professional development (Chartership) with a tailored plan to achieve your career aspirations.
Your key responsibilities will be:

- Producing engineering designs, assessments, and evaluations in accordance with project requirements
- Preparing calculations, writing reports, and checking drawings
- Checking design calculations and drawings done by other engineers
- Performing a wide variety of engineer activities including collating and understanding data, running analysis, developing calculation methods, and working with colleagues to deliver consistently high-quality project work
- Contributing to the dissemination of engineering good practice and implementation of our in-house tools such as the carbon calculation tool
- With the support of your project manager, plan and prioritise your workload, reporting back on progress against a project budget and programme
- Responsible for delivering your own work to a high technical standard, ensuring accuracy through a diligent and careful approach to self-checking.
- Attending site visits or client meetings

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you’ll have:

- Been studying to obtain a bachelor's or master's degree either in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc)
- Aspirations to become a Chartered Engineer
- Experience of working in an engineering environment (such as a year in industry or summer placements)
- Be familiar with either UK standards or equivalent European or Euro Codes
- Possess an understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically the designers' requirements
- Be able to demonstrate a deep understanding and interest in engineering and a personal commitment to technical excellence
- Have the ability and willingness to work in a diverse and multi-disciplinary team
- Be able to demonstrate good communication skills and teamwork

A place to work and so much more.
At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world. We do it by applying our knowledge and curiosity – and sometimes even our courage – to create the solutions the world needs today to enable a better tomorrow. That is why we say no to fossil-based projects and aspire to have 100% of our revenue come from activities that move our customers towards sustainability. We value differences and development and cultivate an environment of belonging and having fun. Because that is what brings out the best in you, at work and at home. With offices primarily located in Scandinavia, Ireland, the UK, North America, and India, we are currently 8,000 people who bring their expertise in engineering, architecture, energy, and environment into play.

What we also offer:
To us, a fair reward is more than a competitive salary. We want to take care of our people professionally and personally as well. Some of our benefits include:

- 28 days' holiday (plus bank and public holidays)
- Formalised development plans and yearly promotion opportunities
- Private health care, for you and your immediate dependents
- Flexible and hybrid working conditions
- Group personal pension scheme – salary exchange
- Life assurance
