Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support local statutory compliance and US GAAP reporting for our team in Cork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of high-quality financial statements across various accounting frameworks.
  • Responsible for month-end close activities, including reviews, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytics.
  • Preparation of statutory trial balances, including identification and posting of local GAAP adjustments.
  • Supporting external audit process.
  • Demonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to conclude on accounting treatment for complex business-related transactions.
  • Business partnering with other Amazon teams, including Treasury, Tax, Public Relations, Transfer Pricing, and Corporate Legal.
  • Collaborating with global Accounting teams to identify opportunities for enhanced standardization.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and ensure accurate financial reporting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and/or a multinational organization.
  • Certified accountant qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel user.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of IFRS or other accounting frameworks.
  • Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify, and communicate risks to leadership.
  • Passion to continuously enhance processes and reduce manual efforts through automation or optimization initiatives.
