To support this launch, the EMEA Accounting team is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst, to support local statutory compliance and US GAAP reporting for our team in Cork.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Preparation of high quality financial statements across a range of accounting frameworks;
2. Responsible for month end close activities including reviews, balance sheet reconciliations and analytics.
3. Preparation of statutory trial balances including identification and posting of local GAAP adjustments;
4. Supporting external audit process;
5. Demonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to be able to conclude on accounting treatment for complex business related transactions;
6. Business partnering with other Amazon teams, including Treasury, Tax, Public Relations, Transfer Pricing and Corporate Legal;
7. Collaborating with global Accounting teams to identify opportunities for enhanced standardization;
8. Being a strong team player, who can operate globally, cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization, taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative.

1. Experience with accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization
2. Certified accountant qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
3. Proficient Microsoft Excel user

1. Knowledge of IFRS or other accounting frameworks;
2. Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology;
3. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - Experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules;
4. Excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to leadership;
5. Passion to continuously enhance processes and reduce manual efforts through automation or optimization initiatives.
