Amazon's Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of low earth orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

To support this launch, the EMEA Accounting team is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst, to support local statutory compliance and US GAAP reporting for our team in Cork.

Key job responsibilities
  • Preparation of high quality financial statements across a range of accounting frameworks;
  • Responsible for month end close activities including reviews, balance sheet reconciliations and analytics;
  • Preparation of statutory trial balances including identification and posting of local GAAP adjustments;
  • Supporting external audit process;
  • Demonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to be able to conclude on accounting treatment for complex business related transactions;
  • Business partnering with other Amazon teams, including Treasury, Tax, Public Relations, Transfer Pricing and Corporate Legal;
  • Collaborating with global Accounting teams to identify opportunities for enhanced standardization;
  • Being a strong team player, who can operate globally, cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization, taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and/or a multinational organization;
  • Certified accountant qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent);
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel user.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of IFRS or other accounting frameworks;
  • Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules;
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to leadership;
  • Passion to continuously enhance processes and reduce manual efforts through automation or optimization initiatives.
